In December 2022, physicians Dr. Konrad Thoele and Martin Kopietz opened Juvenessenz – the first practice in Zurich to combine established methods of aesthetic medicine with the latest innovations in longevity medicine under one roof.
Their approach is based on mechanisms from orthomolecular medicine. Fokus wanted to learn how this works and what patients can realistically expect.
Konrad Thoele: Our team specializes in minimally invasive aesthetic medicine. We help counteract signs of aging using botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid fillers, and biostimulants – all embedded in a holistic treatment concept. Our goal is to help people not only feel fresher and more attractive, but also to increase their overall well-being and energy levels.
Konrad Thoele: We use treatments that improve metabolic function, supply the body with essential nutrients and trace elements, and increase mitochondrial performance – the so-called "powerhouses" of our cells. From a technical standpoint, we rely primarily on infusion therapy and intermittent hypoxia-hyperoxia training (IHHT), a form of simulated altitude training. But I’d like to emphasize that every treatment begins with an in-depth consultation and, when necessary, laboratory diagnostics to assess the individual starting point.
Martin Kopietz: I have many years of experience in this field and have performed thousands of treatments. In recent years, we’ve noticed that patient expectations have shifted significantly – natural results are increasingly in demand. Because of my background in the industry, we adjusted our treatments early on. And by integrating longevity medicine into our practice, we've become the top destination for people who want not only to look good, but also to feel vibrant and healthy.
Konrad Thoele: Through targeted intravenous infusions, we deliver nutrients, trace elements, and amino acids directly into the bloodstream. This gives the body a healthy boost, replenishing cells that are often undernourished. The formulation is always tailored to the intended purpose – whether it’s tissue regeneration, detoxification, or immune support. By bypassing the digestive tract and the microbiome’s limitations, we can provide the body with exactly what it needs for better skin, hair, and nail quality, or to optimize energy and resilience.
Konrad Thoele: We take time to really understand our patients and their needs. Education is key – we explain what each method does and how it affects the body. Natural beauty comes from within, and many patients combine aesthetic treatments with infusions to improve skin, hair, and nails from the inside out. Infusions are also frequently used to support metabolism, increase energy, and enhance physical performance in everyday life or sports.
Martin Kopietz: …and for detox, especially after the holidays, when one’s diet might not have been ideal.
Martin Kopietz: A healthy, balanced diet is the foundation of a strong and energetic body. But often, people don’t meet their nutritional needs through food alone – either because their diet is insufficient or because they’re not eating what their bodies truly need. Nutrition is a highly complex and often controversial topic. Many people are afraid of eating too much – or worse, they eat too much of the wrong things.
Martin Kopietz: The body ends up lacking what it really needs. Many believe that being slim automatically means being healthy, aesthetic, and high-performing. But in our practice, we often see patients who simply eat too little – or the wrong things. Their metabolism slows down; they’re stuck in "energy-saver mode," constantly tired, prone to illness, and less resilient during exercise.
Martin Kopietz: Even in modern medicine, a thorough medical history remains essential. We need to understand what our patients are experiencing and what they want to achieve. From there, we may run detailed bloodwork to identify deficiencies or imbalances. Our lab analyses are highly individualized – from basic values to complex biomarkers. We also work closely with nutritionists to create a personalized treatment and dietary plan.
Konrad Thoele: When it comes to improving metabolism, time is key. Our plans involve guided transitions – supported by infusion therapy and simulated altitude training. With longevity treatments, we always explain that results appear gradually, often over days or weeks. Regeneration takes time. That’s why we set milestones at 3, 6, and 12 months. These are not crash diets or quick fixes, but sustainable lifestyle changes. At Juvenessenz, we believe in empowering our patients with "help for self-help."
Konrad Thoele: Longevity medicine allows us to regenerate the entire body at the cellular level – from the inside out. But we see it as complementary to aesthetic medicine. When applied correctly, botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid, and biostimulants also regenerate treated tissues and are especially effective for targeted wrinkle treatment. We believe both approaches can be beautifully combined to offer the best possible results – so our patients not only look youthful and refreshed but feel that way for a long time. And, as you know, we always aim for natural results through the body’s own regenerative abilities.

Longevity Medicine:
From Lifespan to Healthspan
Longevity medicine is a new medical approach based on the latest clinical science and decades of age-related research. The goal is to delay the onset of age-related degeneration as long as possible in order to preserve health across the lifespan. At Juvenessenz, treatments are selected with a strong focus on activating the body’s own regenerative processes. All procedures are well-established and science-based.
